The Colchester & District Archery Club’s ‘Double WA 720’
Event date: Sunday 28th September 2025 – gates open at 8:00 am, Equipment inspections at 8:30 am. Assembly at 9:00 am. Practice will be at 9:15 am – with the event commencing by 9:30 am.
This is the first year that CADAC have put on this shoot, and therefore all archers must expect to shoot 70 or 50 metres (depending on bow type). Junior archers (under 18) are welcome to shoot at this event, but ticketing, rounds & medals will not provide or differentiate for age groups.
Parking is free in the Colchester Rugby Club car park, after registration on an iPad in the CADAC clubhouse.
The event will consist of two Olympic WA720 shoots – each being 12 ends of 6 arrows for a total of 72 arrows at a standard 10-ring target. The WA 720 Round, (a.k.a. an Olympic Round), is a long-distance target competition. It consists of seventy-two arrows, each worth a maximum of ten points shot at a distance of 70 meters for recurve & longbow and 50 meters for barebow & compound archers. Archers shoot at:
- a 10-ring 122cm target @ 70 meters (Recurve/LongBow)
- a 10-ring 122cm target @ 50 meters (Barebow)
- or a 6-ring 80cm target @ 50 meters (Compound)
Targets will be foam bosses on ‘H’ frames.
Archery GB Rules of Shooting will apply.
The 2025 tournament will have World Record Status.
