The Club Field Championships are an internal competition usually held annually in October. The shoot consists of 2D painted & and 3D rubber animal targets – some of which are positioned to be shot at around and/or through obstacles and shrubbery. The first hit on a target is counted, with a maximum of three arrows shot to get a ‘kill’ or ‘wound’. Points awarded decrease with the number of shots taken at the target, and with distance from a marked ‘kill’ circle.
Note that no real animals are harmed during a CADAC Field shoot and that it is prohibited in England and Wales to hunt wild animals, including birds, by bow or crossbow.
